Bad news for Mexican food fans, beloved Camillus restaurant Boom Boom Mex Mex has closed and its building is currently listed for sale.
The closure comes as the owner, Gino Laurenzo, found it less-than-viable to purchase the building as his lease expired. The restaurant, which was only open seasonally, served as a labor-intensive venture for Laurenzo, who also operates Rio Grande in New Hartford.
Fear not, however, as the restaurant is still owned by the original owners and is currently listed for sale along with the equipment and furnishings. We can only hope to see Boom Boom’s legacy and delicious tastes move forward under new ownership, filling the burrito-sized hole in our hearts.
