Wegmans is saying "sorry" after the grocer banned an 87-year-old military veteran from a Binghamton-area store.
Last week, Herb Singer was "banned" after he sampled one of their soups multiple times. His daughter, Maureen, wrote a Facebook post about the experience (her post is below).
Maureen says his dad is a big Wegmans fan and even gets his prescriptions filled at the pharmacy, something he was told he would not be able to do anymore.
Maureen posted an update (also below) saying that one of the store's Vice Presidents reached out and apologized for the situation. They assured her that employees would get more training in how to deal better with customers, like her dad, in the future.
Things happen in every business that don't represent the culture of that company as a whole. Wegman's maintains their stellar reputation by going above and beyond to resolve the issue and make sure every customer is satisfied.
