If your iPhone is like mine, you probably have many apps that you use on a daily basis. Google, Facebook, and eBay are some of the apps that I frequently use. As a matter of fact, I have three home pages worth of apps! Some of the apps on my phone offer in-app purchases or are premium apps.
Apparently I'm not the only person who loves to stock my iPhone with apps! According to a new study by the intelligence firm, "Sensor Tower," U.S. iPhone users are purchasing a lot of apps. Americans spend an average of $58 on in-app purchases and premium apps in 2017 which was an increase of 23% more than in 2016.
Furthermore, more than half of the $58 was spent on mobile games! The $36 spent on mobile games was an increase from the $32 spent in 2016. Incredibly, according to "Variety," social lifestyle apps such as Tinder and Bumble saw a 38% in 2017 over 2016! Finally, these figures only account purchases made from Apple's App Store, so these number could be higher when purchases from sites like Amazon are taken into account.
