When you go to a Major League Baseball game, you know that there is always the chance that you will get hit by a foul ball. But what about getting hit with a flying hot dog? Well, Philadelphia Phillies fan, Kathy McVay had that happen to her at a recent Phillies game.
It seems that the Philadelphia Phillies mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, brings out a hot dog launcher at various times throughout a Phillies home game. The hot dogs are wrapped in duct tape and sent flying into the stands. Well, Kathy was sitting near home plate when a duct-tapped dog hit her in the face!
Kathy left the game for medical treatment as she sustained a small hematoma. McVay said she is suffering from a shoulder injury and could not swat the hot dog away before it hit her. She does not plan any legal action as Phillies management apologized to her and offered her free tickets to a future game. She probably should have been on the disabled list with her sore shoulder, right?
