Just the other day, I took an informal phone survey on air of our listeners memories of kindergarten. With everyone heading back to school, I thought I'd share my first day story too. For me, my best friend and I held hands because we were so nervous. As we sat in class together, another little girl got up on a desk and screamed at the top of her lungs because she didn't want to be there. She must have know something we didn't know.
Some of our listeners let us know what their favorite memories were too. One listener, Melissa, told us a story of how she would skip school every Thursday, her dad's pay day, to go shopping. It worked about until mid school year, once the nurse caught on. Christie Casciano, from News Channel 9, shared her first memory of her big sister walking her to class and introducing her to everyone. She was proud and felt cool to have her big sister do that for her!
