This semester, Le Moyne students are taking on an important project. As part of a criminological theory class, students will be coming up with ideas and ways to help the local CNY SPCA, along with mental health and police agencies, when it comes to animal abusers. Unfortunately, animal abuse is a huge problem around the world, including right here in Central New York. So, the local SPCA is looking for any kind of help when it comes to combating this problem.
Le Moyne students in the class are excited to help and be able to take what they have learned and apply it to the real world. One student said that it is important that we talk about these uncomfortable topics like animal abuse. By talking about them, we make them more comfortable and get the word out on how people can help.
This is not the first time a Le Moyne class has partnered with a non-profit. It's great to see these students coming together for a great cause. I hope they find a solution to reduce acts of animal abuse here in Central New York.
