Richard Gere Visit His Hometown and Stops By Julie's Diner

Julie’s Diner on Route 11 in North Syracuse had an eventful morning this past Saturday. At 11:00 AM actor and North Syracuse High School graduate, Richard Gere, stopped by to have breakfast!

Gere was accompanied by his pregnant wife, Alejandra Silva, and his father, Homer Gere, who still lives in North Syracuse. Gere, who grew up in North Syracuse not far from the diner, graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1967. Gere has starred in many films including “An Officer and a Gentleman,” “American Gigolo,” and the very popular “Pretty Woman” along side Julia Roberts.

Diner owner, Kristen Macko, said Gere was very gracious and interacted with other customers. “He wasn’t trying to hide and pretend he was someone else,” Macko said. “He was just so nice to everyone,” she continued. Nice to see that Gere hasn’t forgot where he came from!
