Former Louisville basketball coach, Rick Pitino, spent the past few days with Jim Boeheim and the SU basketball team and came away impressed with the team's potential. Pitino also gave a shout out to Coach Boeheim on his Twitter account. "Great to have two days with a man who hired me as his first assistant 40 years ago. Thanks Jim," Pitino tweeted.
Pitino said that the basketball team would be improved offensively this year. He also said that the team should make the NCAA Tournament easily this year without being on any "bubble." This is because he feels that the team is a legitimate Top 25 team and has a great team attitude.
Pitino is considered one of the best coaches in college basketball. However, the "Adidas" scandal and the "escort" scandal led Louisville to part ways with the Hall of Fame coach. Pitino is currently meeting with members of the media to discuss his new book, "Pitino: My Story." Pitino won one NCAA title and had one vacated because of the escort scandal. He also mentioned he does not believe he will ever coach again.
