October isn't just a spooky season because Halloween is coming. It's also that time of year again when the flu comes about. No one likes to be sick, especially with the flu, so we have some tips for you to survive this flu season.
First things first, you should get the flu shot. While not mandatory, it is a great way to prevent yourself from catching the flu this season. The earlier you get the shot, the better according to health officials. Not a fan of shots? Well, there always still is the flu mist, but it's limited on who is eligible for it.
The Onondaga County Health Department reminds people to use the "Three P's" when it comes to flu prevention. Those are:
- Protection - Wash your hands often.
- Prevention - If you're sick, stay home.
- Prescription - Make sure to get treated by your healthcare provider.
Hopefully these tips keep you flu free this season!
