Governor Cuomo Announces Plan to End Growing Violence in Syracuse

Six CHILDREN have been shot in Syracuse in the past two weeks- with two of them being fatal. We have seen the violence grow more and more, with killings that could be well avoided.

Governor Cuomo said, "The recklessness of this type of violence and the unnecessary loss of life and children, literally, is pain-staking." He vowed to put an end to this growing violence in two ways.

1- Deploying more State Police to work in cooperation with the Syracuse Police

2 -Put state dollars into programs working to fight crime and keep kids safe. Programs like after school events/sports, tutoring programs, job training etc. Also having the police work with school systems.

The Governor said he will work with the Mayor to determine where exactly the funds should go.

See what you can do for the city of Syracuse to ensure the safety of our Syracuse kids!
