This Christmas season will see Skaneateles’ celebrate it’s 25th season of its annual Dickens Christmas Festival! The festival is a lakeside holiday tradition where more than 50 actors dress up as characters from Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” and interact with residents and visitors in the town of Skaneateles.
Among the characters you will see strolling around the town are Ebenezer Scrooge, the Fezziwigs, the ghost of Jacob Marley, Tiny Tim, and Charles Dickens himself! Organizers of the event said that it brings in more than 20,000 visitors to the village each year.
Skaneateles has also made carrentals.com list of the “25 Most Festive Holiday Towns in America” based upon the annual Christmas festival. Skaneateles checks in at number 14 on the list! It is also the only Upstate New York location on the list.
The show runs from noon to 4:00 pm every Saturday and Sunday through Christmas. There is also a special Christmas Eve show that will run from noon until 2:30 pm. This is a must see for all Dickens fans!
