In June of this year in Hays County, Texas, 11 year old, Roxli Doss, was diagnosed with a tumor known as diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). The disease is very rare and is destructive marked by a “decreased ability to swallow, sometimes vision loss, decreased ability to talk, and eventually difficulty breathing.” The resilient eleven year-old underwent weeks of radiation in hopes for a recovery.
DIPG does not have a known cure, so you can imagine the astonishment of Roxli and her family when Roxli went in for her usual MRI scan and the tumor was undetectable! Roxli will continue to undergo treatments like immunotherapy as a safe guard.
Doctors are unable to explain the phenomenon and Roxli’s family says there is no question that they have to thank God for this miracle. Right in time to celebrate a happy, healthy Christmas!
