Notice it has been taking less money to fill your tank? Well that is due to the decrease in gas prices in Syracuse.
The average price of gas this week is $2.47 down 4 cents since last week and 18 cents from just a month ago. The decline in pricing is the response to a surplus of crude oil in the United States. Although we wish that this was a long term case, the motor club warns that gas prices could rise again after the New Year. OPEC and Russia disclosed that they will be reducing crude oil production by 1.2 million barrels a day. This direct relationship could cause a rise in oil prices and in return a boost in gas prices.
For now, take time to enjoy that central New York gas prices are just under $2.50!
