Total Lunar Eclipse this Sunday Night Visible from Upstate NY

A total Lunar Eclipse will be visible in Upstate New York on Sunday night. This phenomena, otherwise known as a ‘blood moon’ occurs when the moon will be completely blocked by the Earth’s shadow. Sunlight bending through Earth’s atmosphere and hitting the moon’s surface is what causes the orange color. This will be happening at the same time as the “super moon”,” which occurs when the moon is at its closest point in its orbit to Earth. This will begin around 11 pm and last until 12 am.

Don’t forget to take a look out your window this Sunday night!
