Relying heavily on volunteers the Food Bank makes big impacts on many people's lives. 29% of people served by the people who volunteer for the Food Bank of Central New York are 18 and younger. This past year there were 748 volunteers who spent more than 5,000 hours of their time sorting and packing boxes of food to distribute at local food pantries. There are five locations where which there are volunteering opportunities; Oswego, Cayuga, Cortland, Onondaga, and Oneida counties.
CNYCentral is joining forces with the Food Bank of Central New York and CXTec TERACAI for a telethon that will support local families and children.
