80-Year-Old Syracuse Local Knits Bags of Winter Hats for Children

Thanks to the lovely hands of one 80-year-old woman, children in Syracuse will be wearing new winter hats for the rest of the season.Norine Crary has a mission of keeping children warm. Dropping three large grocery bags filled with hand woven hats off at the newsroom, this woman shows generosity like no other.Denise Headd, of the Catholic Charities said that “We out them out and then we’ll let the kids choose what they like, so it becomes personal to the child.”After hats were delivered to Catholic Charities’ Vincent House, Laura Hand – Journalist, went to Sedgwick Heights Assisted Living to visit Norine. Norine admitted that she knitted three hats a day after seeing a Christmas time story about hat and mitten donations.Norine has no plan of stopping her good deeds. She states that “I’m gonna see to it that more is done, just because you’re 80, you don’t stop.”
