Maple trees are just about ready to be tapped for the season! It’s maple syrup season and the warmer days and cooler nights are ideal for the sap in the trees to begin flowing into buckets!
New York’s maple syrup producers are gearing up for a busy season. Maple syrup comes in four grades. The lightest syrup, golden, is the one most people are familiar with. The darker the syrup, the stronger the maple flavor is.
Additionally, the New York Maple Weekends will be gearing up too. The two weekends will be March 23 and 24, and March 30 and 31. Many maple producers will be participating in the two weekends. For a list of participating vendors, visitwww.nysmaple.com. Have fun!
