North Syracuse School District will soon be using new speech therapy software designed to help students improve their language skills. What's actually more important is that it was a student at the high school who was responsible for coming up with the funding for the software!
Junior Emma Warner is the student who helped get the new technology for the school. Emma’s sister was the inspiration for her to start a fundraising drive to get the $5,500 necessary to purchase the ultrasound technology! Emma reached her goal and soon the equipment will be helping over 250 students improve their speech.
Emma said that her sister has to sometimes miss recess to work on her speech skills. “Just seeing her struggle was hard,” Emma said. “They just want to be done with it and go do other stuff that other students are doing.” Let’s hope that the new equipment and software will do just that! Congratulations, Emma! You have made a wonderful difference in so many student’s lives!
