Okay chicken wing lovers, The Inner Harbor Wingfest will be returning again this year with wings to tempt your taste buds! The Wingfest will be entering its second year, and according to organizers, will be held in an expanded venue. The festival will be held behind the Aloft Hotel on the corner of Solar and West Kirkpatrick Streets.
The Wingfest will be held on May 17 and 18, and will include live music and 10 local restaurants. They will be competing for the title of the "Best Chicken Wing in Central New York." You know that each eatery will be going all out to serve the best wings possible! Nick Ford, partner and general manager of the Limp Lizard in Geddes, along with Rob O'Connor, from Right Coast Inc., organize the festival. COR Development owns the site. Empower Federal Credit Union will sponsor the event.
Ford said that the venue will be twice the size as last year and expects that the newer space will help alleviate some of the congestion that occurred last year. Wings will sell for $1 each. Admission will be $5 with a portion of the proceeds going to Ronald McDonald Charities of Central New York and Contact Community Services.
Competitors selling wings will be Shifty's Bar & Grill, Limp Lizard, Big Awesome BBQ, Dominick's Restaurant, Jake's Grub & Grob, Peppino's Pizzeria, Pizza Man, Rosie's Corner, Wings Over Syracuse, and last year's champion, Saltine Warrior. Sounds like a good time! See you there!
