Got some pumpkins you want to get rid of? Well build a catapult and head up to Clayton, NY for the 8th Annual Punkin Chunkin Contest into the St. Lawrence River! Contestants build and bring their own catapults with the sole purpose of seeing how far they can throw a pumpkin!
The festival routinely draws 7,000 to 8,000 people to the small town for the annual event. The festival also offers a farmer’s market and a barbecue contest. The event raises money for local charities with over $7,000 raised last year.
There are 5 adult teams and 7 youth teams scheduled to participate this year. The cost is free for spectators and will be held on Saturday, October 19th. Sounds like a good time for all!
