We are honoring Staff Sergeant Steven Scott of Syracuse, as the winner of our One Night For Our Military contest.
Steve's resilience and passion to serve for us is undoubtedly incredible. And his motivation to provide for his family in retirement, in addition to starting his own business, sure takes a lot of courage in itself.
Zack Bellin submitted the following story to share with us. We wanted to share it with you to honor his service to our country.
Steve was a paratrooper for ten years until he was forced into a medical retirement because he was injured in combat and required a knee replacement for his right leg. Steve received a Purple Heart for his sacrifice to this country.
After his retirement earlier this year, Steve moved back to his hometown of Syracuse, NY. Steve is now in the midst of starting his own small owned home improvement company, which is no small feat… doing what he can do to help take care of his family.
Steve is a huge country music fan and this opportunity would really help him decrease all the pressure and stress he is feeling.
To go through the sacrifice Steve has, in addition to continuing to provide for his family in tough times, deserves all the recognition he can get.
To thank Steve for his service, we have chosen to send him and a guest to Nashville for our iHeartCountry One Night For Our Military concert. It's taking place on November 11th at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
He's going to get his fill of incredible country music experiences! Our lineup includes Jason Aldean, Scotty McCreery, and Kelsea Ballerini.
Steve, we thank you for your service to our Country, your family, and our community. And hope you'll have a blast at the show!
