It’s Fall. With the changing leaf colors comes the annual falling of the leaves onto your lawn! While we expect that to happen, many of us have one big problem with it: raking them up! Yes, it is literally and figuratively a pain in the you know where!
So if you are looking for an excuse to not rake the leaves, The National Wildlife Federation has one for you. The Federation says it’s okay to not rake your leaves! It’s fine to leave a thin layer of leaves on your lawn plus it will help the wildlife during the winter. Chipmunks, earthworms, and insects rely on the leaves.
So if you don’t feel like raking this year, you now have an out! Leave the leaves for the little critters that depend on them during the winter months.
