Gas prices in Central New York are edging down now, after climbing closer to $4 a gallon over the past month.

AAA says the average price of gas is down 3 cents a gallon from last week to $3.78.  They say fears that the conflict in Iraq could have affected oil production had a lot to do with the price hike.  But when those fears turned out to be unfounded, oil prices eased a bit, and then so did gas prices.  They expect prices to remain steady or even edge down a bit more, barring unforeseen circumstances like a hurricane affecting production at US refineries.
